President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday flagged off the dredging of Calabar Port Channel to facilitate navigation of larger vessels into the port as well as increase the tempo of maritime-related business in Cross River state and beyond.
The inauguration of the project also ends years of controversy and apprehension concerning the feasibility of opening the channel for easy navigation of super cargoes.
