The Senior Special Adviser to President MUHAMMADU Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, on Sunday debunked the rumours making the rounds that the presideent had died in London.
Shehu in a series of tweets enjoined Nigerians to discard that rumour, saying that Buhari who travelled to London for medical treatment is in no serious life threatening situation.
In his view, the authors of the rumour are persons with vested interests intent on creating panic in the political ecosystem.
According to the rumour mills, the president has gone into life support as a result of the deterioration of his heath, while a version that claims the president may even have died.
Shehu insisted that the president is well and alive.
He tweeted, “Baseless rumors are trending again that an unpleasant thing has happened to our beloved President, Muhammadu Buhari.” “If you have received this information on WhatsApp or Facebook, disregard it because it is plain lies spread by vested interests to create panic.”
“Nothing unpleasant has happened to the President. No cause for apprehension. Thanks for the many calls.”
