Both camps in the struggle for power in the House of Representatives continued the perfection of the survival strategies on Monday night with the leadership of both Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and that of All Progressives Congress (APC) holding meetings with members of the lower parliament elected on the platform of their different parties.
The meetings were held by the various camps even as it emerged that the PDP leaders and the Presidency, with the belief that Speaker Aminu Tambuwal will be removed at all cost, have started shopping for his replacement.
Competent sources at the PDP secretariat confirmed to Daily Independent late last night that the consensus within the party is that the seat should be returned to the South West where it was originally zoned.
Current Leader of the House Mulikat Akande-Adeola and Chairman House Committee on Petroleum Upstream, Muraina Ajibola who were the touted candidates for the zone in 2011 inauguration of the parliament have re-emerged as the front runner in the race.
However, the Deputy Speaker, Emeka ihedioha may be used as sacrificial lamb in the game as some PDP members in the House have made strong demand for his removal alongside Tambuwal.
