The Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, Mr. Taiwo Lakanu, yesterday said the police had uncovered a plan by hoodlums from outside the state to cause breakdown of law and order.
Lakanu said in a statement in Ado Ekiti that those behind the plan were working with some “disgruntled elements” within the state.
“We wish to reiterate that the command will use all necessary lawful mechanisms at its disposal to deal with any person or group of persons planning to foment trouble in the state. In view of this, any person or group of persons that have no lawful business in the state are strongly advised, in their own interest, to steer clear of the state”, he warned as he advised people of the state to be very vigilant, mindful of strangers and report strange movement or suspicious activities to the police for prompt action.
