The Plateau State Government on Thursday signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MoU) with German-based firm, Tim Consultancy Limited, for the establishment of a 60-bed specialist hospital in Barkin-Ladi.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the hospital project is expected to cost 130 million U.S. dollars.
According to details of the agreement signed in Jos, the Plateau Government and the German firm would contribute 65 million dollars each for the execution of the project.
Further details indicated that the project would be executed in 20 months and be operated by the German firm for 20 years during which profit realized would be shared equally between the duo.
Speaking after signing the agreement, Dr Fom Dakwak, the Commissioner for Health in Plateau, said the initial handlers would be expected to train Plateau indigenes to run the facility after they had left.
He said the state government would provide the infrastructure required to commence work at the site and undertake the repair of the routes to the project.
