The Peoples Democratic Party has scored a lanslide victory in the presidential election held last Saturday in Rivers State.
Independent National Electoral Comission declared the party winner of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.
In the result declared by the Returning Officer and Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, Prof. John Etu-Efeotor, at INEC office in Port Harcourt, the PDP won in the 23 local government areas of the state.
According to Etu-Efeotor, the PDP polled 1,487,075 votes, which represents 94.99 percent of the total votes cast.
The All Progressives Congress, APC, polled a total of 60,238 representing 4.2 percent.
The total number of registered voters in the state is 2,324,300, while only 1,643,409 were accredited for the general elections, he said.
He said that the votes cast for the 14 parties that participated in the exercise were 1, 555,462, out of which 19,309 were voided.
The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mrs. Gesilia Khan, in a statement on Monday said that the PDP won in all the senatorial and federal constituency elections.
APC, however, has launched official protests against the result, just the PDP is also protesting some results in the North West, which has been officially declared by INEC collating centre in Abuja.
