The Peoples Democratic Party has given indications that it might not accept the result of last Saturday’s presidential election.
This indication was given on Monday night by the Director of PDPPresidential Camapign Organisation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, when he spoke on the phone a team of analysts on Channels Telivision election programme.
Fani-Kayode said that the party was prepared to abide by the wishes of the people freely expressed through the ballot box but would hesitate to do so if there are manipulations and outright violation of electoral laws as it had already established concerning results coming from the North West.
He accused Jega of working in consort with the opposition APC to rig the election by allowing massive underage voting and the suspension of the use of card readers in the most states of North West, which allowed the infiltration of foreigners into the election.
According to the PDPPCO spokesman, the use of Permanent Voters Card and the card readers when the INEC was not fully ready was party of the ploy to rig the election.
Fani-Kayode said that the party has concrete evidence including photos of the under-age voting and suspension of the card readers in the accreditation of voters in the states for which it has petitioned INEC.
Even with these complaints, he sounded confident that his party would win by as much as two million votes after all the states were collated.
He said that the records obtained by PDP on the field indicates that it has clearly won the presidential poll.
it will be recalled that the PDP had on Monday called for the cancellation of Saturday’s elections in six states of Gombe, Kaduna, Kano and Katsina over alleged irregularities.
According to the deputy national chairman of the ruling party, Mr Uche Secondus, under age voters were allowed by electoral officials to vote in Kano and Katsina States.
Mr Secondus also alleged that results were fabricated from some local government councils in Gombe State, where voting never took place because of attacks by the insurgents on the day of the elections.
He also condemned some online media claims of victory by the opposition, while the All Progressives Congress on its part accused the Media Director of the Jonathan Campaign Organisation, Mr Femi Fani-Kayode, of attempt to cause chaos in the country by saying that he is sure the PDP would win the presidential election.
