…Insists On No Entry Into Party Through The Back Door
The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has dismissed the allegation of inciting physical humiliation of certain non and expelled members of the party from Rivers State against the Minister of State for Education, and leader of the party in the State, Chief, Barr Nyesom Wike during an integration meeting in Abuja as false, baseless and malicious.
Reacting to a sponsored image smear campaign in some sections of the media against the person of Chief Nyesom Wike, the State Chairman of the PDP, Bro Felix Obuah through a statement signed by his Special Adviser on media, Jerry Needam said the allegation was the handiwork of agents of Governor Chibuike Amaechi to cause disaffection among the members of the Party.
The truth according to the State party Chair, is that the non and expelled members seeing that their claims before the Prof Iya Abubaker-led PDP integration panel were hollow resorted to cheap blackmail against their target, Chief Barr Wike which was not necessary.
Prince Obuah said the Hon. Minister of State for Education could not descend so low as to engage anybody in a physical combat let alone doing so privately or publicly.
The State PDP chairman however queried the rationale for attending a party integration meeting in far away Abuja by the petitioners with a crowd of thugs if they did not have an ulterior motive.
Averring that the reported skirmishes were outside the venue of the integration meeting which went peacefully were occasioned by these acclaimed petitioners, the PDP State Chairman noted that they are now struggling to exonerate themselves by linking the consequence of their own blunder to the Hon. Minister of State for Education.
Notwithstanding, the Chairman stressed without mincing words that the PDP remains open to all genuine and loyal members and has no plans of shutting out anybody but this should not be mistaken for a blank cheque for mischief makers and spies of the All Progressives Congress, APC to infiltrate the party through the back door.
“We are a peaceful and honourable party men and women with the best interest of our people at heart. We refuse to be hoodwinked by anybody or group of mischief makers using primordial sentiments to grab what they do not deserve. Anyone who wants to be our party member should be free of these sentiments and must be ready to work for the collective interest of all Rivers People,” the PDP chairman declared.
The PDP also exonerated the minister, and leader of the party, Nyesom Wike of any blame, describing him as a man of peace.
