The Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State has accused the All Progressive Congress (APC) of writing a letter urging President Muhammadu Buhari to stop the refund of money spent by the State on Federal projects by the Federal Government.
The party, in a statement by its State Publicity Secretary, Jackson Adebayo, in Ekiti on Sunday, said the APC leadership allegedly decided to write Buhari in order to cover up their earlier allegations that the state Governor, Mr Ayo Fayose, had collected a sum of N22 billion naira as a refund for the federal road projects executed in Ekiti.
The Publicity Secretary claimed that the Federal roads executed by the State government only worth a sum of N15 billion, out which the Federal Government has made refunds to the past government.
Adebayo insisted that the APC in a letter to President Buhari urged him to protect the interest of the party in the state so that it will not lose face with the people in the subsequent elections that would
be conducted in the state.
