… Still visits Kogi monarch after surviving crash
Vice president Yemi Osinbajo’s chopper on Saturday survived a helicopter crash in the course of his campaign for the return of his party the All Progressives Congress in coming elections.
The helicopter crashed in Kabba, Kogi state. The crash occurred in the town while the vice president and his team were on board from Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Disclosing this via his tweeter handle, Senior Special Assistant to the vice-president on media and publicity, Mr Laolu Akande, confirmed the delopment in his tweeter handle.
He disclosed that everyone on board the helicopter is safe and that the vice president had continued with the campaign.
“VP Osinbajo’s Chopper crash lands in Kabba, but he and the entire crew safe. He is continuing with his engagements and plans for the day in Kogi State.
“We give all the glory to God, our able protector and commend all the Flight Crew officials for their service. We are marching on for indeed we can do all things through Christ that strengthens us”, Akande said via Twitter.
Akande disclosed that after the crash, the vice president still visited the palace of the Obaro of Kabba where he expressed gratitude to God for sparing his life and those of the others who were with him.
“VP Osinbajo speaking now at the palace of the Obaro of Kabba, expresses gratitude to God for the deliverance from the chopper crash,” he said.
He further quoted Professor Osinbajo as saying: “We are extremely grateful to the Lord for preserving our lives from the incident that just happened. Everyone of us is safe and no one is maimed.”
The office of the vice president also released a statement confirming that everyone on board the helicopter was safe. “Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) has arrived Kabba, Kogi state safely. His Chopper had crash landed after a landing incident, but everyone is safe.
“Prof Osinbajo is now in Kabba after the incident and continuing his engagements in the state, engaging the people on the ‘Next Level’ plan of the Buhari administration,” the statement said.
