The Federal Government has appointed Mr Funso Doherty as the new Director General for the National Pension Commission, PENCOM.
Doherty, whose appointment is subject to Senate confirmation, replaces Mal. Dikko Aliyu AbdulRahman.
AbdulRahman is now Chairman, Governing Board of the Bank of Industry.
President Muhammadu Buhari had, on April 13, named Abdulrahman as DG of PENCOM and Doherty as Chairman of the commission.
Buhari had also named Akin Akinwale, Abubakar Zaki Magawata, Ben Oviosun and Nyerere Ayim as Executive Commissioners.
In a statement by Chris Okeke on behalf of the Director, Press, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation OSGF, on Saturday, the Acting President Professor Yemi Osinbajo, named other Executive Commissioners of PENCOM as Mr. Manase Benga, Zaki Magawata, Ben Oviosun and Nyerere Ayim, all of whose appointments are subject to confirmation by the Senate.
Osinbajo also named Mr. Olukayode Pitan as Managing Director, Bank of Industry (BoI), while Mr. Emeka Nwakpa is the Chairman, Governing Board of the Consumer Protection Council. “With the exception of those that are subject to confirmation by the Senate, all other appointments take immediate effect”, the statement added.
