The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirm the release of former Imo State Governor, Ikedi Ohakim, from custody.
Ohakim was after arrested on Thursday, June 18, 2015 by the EFCC over fraud allegations.
Wilson Uwujaren, spokesman for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the release of the former Imo governor.“We are still in investigation stage. After this stage, we will prepare charges against him.”
He noted that there is no time limit to the antigraft agency’s investigation on any economic and financial crimes.
“We will go for him any time we need him,” Uwujaren added.
Ohakim was arrested by officials of the EFCC after he failed to respond to invitation. He was grilled for hours on issues raised in allegations of fruad agains him.
