Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki, has formally resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Channels TV is reporting.
The governor announced this on Tuesday after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
His resignation follows his disqualification to contest the Edo governorship election under the party’s platform after a dramatic falling out with former ally and APC chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.
There are strong speculations that he is headed to the People Democratic Party. He is said to have been consulting with the party leadership since the disqualification saga.
