Chairman of Northern Governors’ Forum Kashim Shettima has condemned the torching of mosques by pro-Biafra agitators in Onitsha, Anambra State, Southeast Nigeria.
Shettima, who is the incumbent Governor of Borno State, said that the 19-member governors forum have also taken firm measures to prevent any further spread of violence in Onitsha that claimed five lives and property last Wednesday.He spoke on Thursday at the Government House, Maiduguri, while responding to the Onitsha violence of pro-Biafra protesters.
He said the evils being perpetrated by Boko Haram insurgency against innocent people among the various religious and ethnic groups, were more than enough “troubles and other related crises” in the country.
“We condemn the Wednesday crisis in very strong terms,”he said, in reference to the actions of the Biafra agitators in Onitsha..
