The Nigerian Army has rescued another Chibok girl, Maryam Ali Maiyanga, from the custody of Boko Haram terror group.
A statement by the Army spokesman, Colonel Sani Usman, indicated that Maiyanga was rescued on Saturday morning at about 6am by troops of the 121 Battalion of the Nigerian Army.
She was rescued at about 6am during the screening of some escapees from the Boko Haram terrorists hideout in Sambisa forest.
The troops were deployed at Pulka, Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State as part of Operation LAFIYA DOLE.
She was discovered to be one of the abducted Government Secondary School, Chibok girls.
She had a 10-month-old son, Ali, with her.
Maiyanga has been taken to the 121 Battalion’s medical facility for proper medical check up.
“It is imperative to state that troops have been working round the clock to clear remnants of Boko Haram terrorists wherever they might be hibernating and also rescue all persons held hostages by terrorists,” Usman emphasised in the statement released on Saturday morning
