Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu on Tuesday said in the next one week he would announce whom the party had picked as its governorship candidate for 2015 election.
Aliyu said this when Peoples Democratic Party stakeholders paid him Sallah homage at his residence in Minna.
He said eight persons had approached him officially to intimate him with their intention to succeed him.
He advised that the zoning formular in the state should be maintained by the PDP and not be altered midway, paying that the best candidate would emerge.
“The time has come to tell the home truth without hiding anything any longer.
“We will plead with the PDP members we have offended in the course of our governance,” he warned.
The Vice chairman of PDP in zone B, Alhaji Mamman Gambo, said despite the anti-party politics exhibited by their party members during the last senatorial election, the PDP emerged victorious.
He commended Aliyu for the laudable achievements recorded in the last seven years of his administration.
