After announcing the album at the MET Gala, then later pushing back the June release date, Nicki Minaj has arrived with the official release date and album artwork for her upcoming fourth studio album Queen. Nicki also shared that Queen will be available on August 10, with pre-orders opening next week.
The artwork sees Nicki almost nude, but covered by an ancient Egyptian accessories while she lays half-perched on a hefty tree branch amid a blood orange background. The cover was shot by Mert and Marcus. Nicki recently shared song’s “Chun-Li” and “Barbie Tingz,” two reported singles for the album, according to Fader report
“Minaj appears bedecked with sequins and beads sitting atop a wooden log. With nothing but sequin pasties covering her nipples, Minaj wears a distinctly Cleopatra-esque headdress and a beaded panty.”, Mashable reports.
In the caption, Minaj described the album — which will drop on 10 August — as her “greatest work to date” and said the cover art was shot by the “legendary” fashion photographers Mert and Marcus.
“Thank you for your patience & love. Pre-Order next week w|my 2nd single 🎀,” she wrote.
