The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Electoral Committee on Thursday cleared seven candidates to contest the presidency of the federation in an election slated for Tuesday September 30, 2014.
Top on the list is the immediate past First Vice President of the NFF, Mike Umeh and former scribe of the NFF, Taiwo Ogunjobi.
Others are Delta State Sports Commissioner, Amaju-Oritshe Pinnick, former board members of the NFF, Dominic Iorfa, Amanze Uchegbulan and Abba Yola. The last but not the least is Shehu Dikko.
According to the committee, those cleared were those indicated interest why those earlier cleared but did not show interest like Segun Odegbami, Chris Giwa, Obinna Ogba were disqualified.
Emeka Inyama, Adamu Shehu, Seyi Akinwunmi and Suleyman Muazu were cleared to contest for the Vice Presidency seat.
Meanwhile, 24 candidates representing each of the six political geographical zones of the country were also cleared to contest as ordinary members of the federation, while the chairman of chairmen position will be contested by Musa Gusau Ibrahim.
The release signed by the NFF electoral committee also stated that eight candidates in the Chris Giwa faction earlier screened, failed to resubmit their names for clearance and were therefore, barred from taking part in the NFF executive elections.
