The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has allayed consumers’ fears of radiation from telecommunication equipment, saying that it had always approved all telecom equipments coming into the country to ensure compliance with international standard.
The regulatory body through Director, Consumer Affairs Bureau (CAB), Maryam Bayi, said this at the 67th edition of the commission’s Consumer Outreach Programme held at the Mapo Hall in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
In her paper, “The Effects of Telecom Infrastructure on Human Health,” delivered at the programme she allayed consumers’ fears of radiation, saying that there was no record of such radiation or risk to human life caused by telecom infrastructures.
