The federal lawmakers on Thursday passed a harmonised 2017 Appropriation Bill with a total budget estimates of N7,441,175,486,758.
Both the Senate and House of Representatives released the breakdown of the National Assembly 2017 Budget of N125 billion.
Their original budget was N115bn, with N10 billion coming in as additional.
In the national budget as approved by the lawmakers, N434, 412, 950,249 is for statutory transfers, Debt service is to gulp N1000, 845,727,206; while N177,460,296,707 is allocated to sinking fund for maturing bonds.
Meanwhile, recurrent expenditure will gulp N2,987,550,334, 360 while the sum ofN2,177, 866, 775,867 is for contribution to the development fund for capital expenditure.
However, this the first time in many years that the National Assembly will be releasing to the public details of its spending for a fiscal year.
Senator Dino Melaye on his part commended the National Assembly for making details of its budget public as captured in the Budget report. He also commended the National assembly for attaching all the details of the budget.
Speaking earlier on the generality of the Budget, Senate Minority leader Godswill Akpabio, commended the senate for doing a thorough job warned however on the need to implement the budget to the latter.
