Six suspected cattle rustlers have been arrested by the Niger state Police command with Over 230 herds of Cattle and 34 sheep they stole over the weekend
The Niger State Police Commissioner, Mr. Emanuel Amore, who paraded the suspects yesterday in his office in Minna said his men launched massive onslaught on the Cattle rustlers following the prevalence of the crime in the state in recent time.
He disclosed that the first set of arrest and recoveries were made on Saturday at Edozghigi village in Gbako local government area of the state where a 5-man gang of suspects were found in possession of 104 cows and 7 sheep.
Suspects arrested were Shehu Mohammed, Abubakar Hassan, Umar Mohammed, Mohammed Bello and Moham. V. med Umar from Bena village in Kebbi state .
Also he said police acting on a complaint lodged at Kagara Police station by one Abubakar Mohammed of Baruba village, Zamfara State that unknown gunmen attacked him, inflicted him with injuries police recovered another 33 cows in a bush near Kagara.
Amore said the rustlers were chased and a suspect, Haruna Yunusa, who confessed to the attack was arrested and the stolen 33 cows were recovered from the suspect
