Nigeria and CSKA Moscow winger Ahmed Musa is facing a race against time to be fit for the all important 2015 Afcon qualifying game with Sudan on Wednesday.
Musa, who was substituted in the 1-0 loss to Sudan in Khartoum last weekend sat out Monday evening’s training session after failing to train with the main group for the second time.
The former Kano Pillars man is carrying a knock suffered from the Sudan game and is now in danger of missing the encounter against the Falcons of Jediane.
Volyn of Ukraine midfielder Michael Babatunde was also not involved in training with the team as he still hasn’t recovered from his injury which made him miss the game in Khartoum.
Babatunde, one of Nigeria’s revelations at the last World Cup in Brazil had his right thigh heavily strapped and looks all but out of the game.
Nigeria will face Sudan at the National Stadium in Abuja on Wednesday in a must win encounter.
The Super Eagles are bottom of Group A of the qualifiers after picking just a single point from three matches. South Africa are group leaders with seven points followed by Congo who have six and Sudan on three points.
