A Military aircraft King Air 350 has crashef in Abuja, with all on board feared dead.
The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, who confirmed the crash on his Twitter handle,
He tweeted, “A military aircraft King Air 350 has just crashed short of our Abuja runway after reporting engine failure enroute Minna.
“It appears to be fatal.
“We should remain calm & wait for the outcome of investigation by the military, while we pray for the departed soul/souls if any.”
Reports indicate that the plane would have crashed into a residential with its potential of huge casualties if not for the gallantry of the pilot of the ill-fated plane.
Eyewitnesses said that the planne was initially seen to be heading in the direction of a residential area, but was manoeuvred into a bushy area by the pilot.
One of those at the scene of the incident, Imoleayo Michael, tweeted on his Twitter handle: “The pilot is a hero!
“This aircraft should have crashed into the residential area but we watched him maneuver into a free bush to crash.”
