The immediate past Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, has dumped the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, for the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA where he seeks to fulfill his ambition of governing Nassarawa state.
The former easily picked the governorship ticket for the 2015 election on the APGA platform.
Maku had been aggrieved over the outcome of the PDP’s guber primaries in the state in which Mr. Yusuf Agabi emerged winner.
His calls to the national leadership of the party to cancel the results were largely ignored.
Reports quoting sources at the APGA headquarters in Abuja said that Maku’s name was submitted by the party before the December 26 deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as deadline for party’s to submit the names of their governorship candidates.
Other candidates submitted by the party as governorship candidates are the National Secretary of APGA, Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, who is contesting for the Zamfara governorship seat, former Minister of Interior, Emmanuel Iheanacho (Imo State), Senator Anthony Agbo (Ebonyi State), and the former Managing Director of Diamond Bank, Alex Otti (Abia State).
