A frontline aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2015 Abia State governorship race, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu , has vowed to deal ruthlessly with enemies of the state and all those responsible for retrogression and economic stagnation in the state.
Okezie who stated this at the weekend in Umuahia while formerly declaring his governorship ambition at the PDP’s secretariat regretted that some individuals had decided to make themselves enemies of progress in the state, and vowed to deal with them if voted into power.
His words: ” Enemies of the state will remain my enemies in the days ahead, and anyone who wants to take us back to Egypt will be resisted”.
He promised to pursue the re- invention of Aba , the economic hub of the state, as well as Obuaku Industrial City in Ukwa, if voted into power.
“The axiom, ‘get Aba right and Abia is right’, shall continue to be the pivotal development philosophy and the nexus upon which to hinge development policy of the state,” he said.
He said “Aba is home to virtually all Abians and Ndigbo, and has a strong attachment to many others; re-developing Aba into a modern commercial hub; urban renewal and city upgrading, functional infrastructure, stable power supply, reliable and decent public transportation system, urban traffic management system, structured and planned industrial layouts, clusters and parks, will release her revenue potential that can be leveraged upon to develop the rest of Abia State.”
