Kolo Toure produced an impressive display against Real Madrid, managing to keep Cristiano Ronaldo from scoring the goal that would have taken him joint-first in the all-time Champions League goalscoring charts.
Needless to say, Twitter reacted.
After the game, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers praised his defender, and admitted that performances from a number of players could persuade him to give them a starting position against Chelsea.
‘Kolo Toure was excellent. Tonight gives me great food for thought. We played a team that we thought could get the result and they nearly got the result.
