A lifeless body of a man identified as Najir Yusuf was dumped on Friday in the compound of Pastor Solomon Bida located at Malali village in Kaduna North Local government area. The pastor, while speaking to our correspondent, said he woke up around 6.30am and noticed the lifeless body lying down at the uncompleted part of his compound.
“I thought it was a man sleeping due to darkness. But that notwithstanding, I raised alarm to attract other neighbours around. My son with my wife joined me. I did not touch the body. But the police officer who came said some parts of the deceased were removed by unknown persons.
“There is a police man who lives close to my house. I quickly sent for him. When he came, he confirmed that it was a lifeless body. Immediately, he alerted Malali Divisional Police Officer (DPO) who came and removed the corpse. Some suspects had been arrested, including the elder brother of the dead man,” he said.
Investigation revealed that the late Najir had always assisted his elder brother Abdullahi at his shop located at their main house where he sold yams and Irish potato.
It was also gathered that the deceased disappeared about three days ago. All efforts to locate him had proved abortive until his corpse was found where it was dumped at the pastor’s compound. The Pastor, Solomon Bida, who presides over Cherubim and Seraphim church located at Niger Street, Malali Federal Low-Cost, said he was still in shock becaused of what had happened.
He prayed to God to expose the perpetrators.
Our correspondent attempted to speak with the elder brother of the deceased, who was being held at the Malali police station as at the time of filing this report. The attempt was not successful.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Aminu Lawal confirmed the incident and said investigation had commenced into the matter.
