The governorship ambition of Lagos State Commissioner for Works, Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, may have hit the rocks, Sunday Independent has learnt.
This, according to our sources, is why Hamzat is yet to obtain his nomination form and Expression of Interest from the party secretariat weeks after other aspirants have done so.
It is gathered that Hamzat may have seen the handwriting on the wall that his dream of succeeding incumbent governor, Babatunde Fashola, may not materialise, hence the need not to embark on a wild goose chase.
A chieftain of the party, who spoke with our reporter, said one major obstacle militating against Hamzat is the fact that he belongs to the Justice Forum, founded by his father, Olatunji Hamzat.
Since APC in Lagos is dominated by the Mandate Group, many believe it will not augur well for the group if Hamzat becomes the governor.
