The late Ms Oneya was shot dead last Friday in Effurun by suspected armed robbers who accosted her after she had made N200,000 cash withdrawal at a new generation bank along PTI Road.
Dr Uduaghan said the killing of the 35-year-old mother of four was particularly sad and tragic coming at a time the peace and security architecture of his administration had helped in stemming the tide of armed robbery, kidnapping and other violent crimes.
Governor Uduaghan, who paid a condolence visit to the home of the Oneya’s on Sunday, promised to assist the police in ensuring that the killers were arrested and brought to book.
He warned criminal elements hiding in the state to turn a new leaf or be prepared to face the consequence of their nefarious activities.
