One of such meetings was the secret meeting between Chief Tom Ikimi, a PDP chieftain and Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State.
Recently, Ikimi defected from the APC to the PDP, but his sudden appearance in Government House where he met with Oshiomhole surprised watcher of Edo politics.
The chief, popularly referred to as Oduma of Igueben, clad in black trousers, white shirt and a black beret, was seen walking into Oshiomhole’s office at about 4.30p.m. and left at about 6.30p.m.
Although Ikimi’s mission was not made public, THISDAY gathered from a source close to the Government House that he was there to push for a come back to the party.
After the meeting, the former foreign affairs minister, who apparently did not recognise the presence of journalists, walked straight into his car and zoomed off.
