Kanye West just gave a rare interview with Drink Champs, via Newsweek, discussing an array of topics including his relationship with Kim Kardashian. Kanye made it clear that he wants to stay married to Kim, saying the aren’t even technically divorced yet.
He also referenced Kim’s Saturday Night Live monologue where she said “when I divorced [Kanye], you have to know it came down to just one thing: his personality. I know it sounds mean, but people keep telling me that comedy comes from truth. And if there’s one thing that I always strive to be, it’s genuine.”
In response to the moment, Kanye told Drink Champs, “SNL making my wife say, ‘I divorced him,’ on TV because they just wanted to get that bar off, and I ain’t never even seen the papers. We’re not even divorced…That ain’t no joke to me. My kids want they parents to stay together. I want us to be together.”
Kanye’s interview comes amid reports that Kim is dating Pete Davidson, whom she kissed during a skit on SNL. Kim and Pete were spotted holding hands in California last weekend, and a few days later went on back-to-back dates in Staten Island and Manhattan. A source tells E! News that the vibe between Kim and Pete is “definitely casual” and “there is no pressure between them. Pete is a very chill and casual guy, and she likes that. They have plans to see each other again while Kim is in New York City. Whatever is going on between them is exciting to her.”
