Supporters of President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of February 14 presidential election are being molested in Buach State, according to the Coordinator of Goodluck Support Group (GSG) in Bogoro, Dass and Tafawa Balewa, Mr. Ayuba Kushi Lusa.
Lusa alleged threat to his life and burning of his residence by some faceless elements in the area, which underscores the emotions and fanatical inclination building up ahead of the election.
It is not the first time such allegation was heard as even prominent northern leaders including Governor Sule Lamido had made similar insinuation.
Lusa said however that despite the Molestation the group was working towards ensuring that President Jonathan scores 100 per cent votes in Bogoro, Dass and Tafawa Balewa, adding that they would not be deterred from mobilizing support for Jonathan in their various LGAs.
He said, “It is worthy to note that Bogoro, Dass and Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency is a strong hold of PDP since the advent of the nation’s nascent democracy and is committed to giving 100 percent votes to President Jonathan in the 2015 elections. This is especially now that PDP is working tirelessly to consolidate on the gains of democracy.”
He commended Professor Suleiman Bogoro for assisting in boosting the President Jonathan’s campaign organ in Bogoro, Dass and Tafawa Balewa axis saying Jonathan’s detractors in the area would not succeed as the administration has changed the fortune of Nigeria.
The GSG Coordinator stressed that, “Those behind the accusations that the person in question is working for the opposition should please leave him alone to enable him concentrate on his national assignment of improving the quality of education instead of linking him with bad omen against the interest that appointed him.”
