President Goodluck Jonathan held meeting with governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday.
It was not clear what was the agenda of the meeting, but some sources claimed it was in connection with the coming gubernatorial election.
According to the sources, the meeting is essentially to urge the governors to put shake off the shock of the party’s defeat in the presidential election and work towards the success of the party in the governorship election.
Governors who attended the meeting include Godswill Akpabio (Akwa Ibom); Liyel Imoke (Cross River);Theodore Orji (Abia); and Seriake Dickson (Bayelsa).
Others present at the meeting were Governors Idris Wada (Kogi); Emmanuel Uduaghan (Delta); Martin Elechi (Ebonyi); Ibrahim Dankwambo (Gombe); Murktar Yero (Kaduna); Jonah Jang (Plateau); Sullivan Chime (Enugu).
