The Police Public Relations Officer, Ikeja Police College, Mr. Samuel Jinadu, is dead.
Our correspondent learnt that Jinadu, who was a superintendent of police, died last Thursday in his hometown in Owo, Ondo State, after an undisclosed illness.
Jinadu, who was a member of the Course 21 of the police, had served as the PPRO of the Benue State Police Command for several years before being transferred to Lagos.
He became famous when he served as the PPRO of the Lagos State Police Command between 2010 and 2012, having taken over from Mr. Frank Mba, who later became the Force PRO.
Jinadu handed over to Mr. Joseph Jaiyeoba in January 2012 after which he was deployed to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba.
He was only transferred to the Ikeja Police College a few months ago.
A friend of the deceased, who confirmed his death to our correspondent on the telephone, said, “Jinadu had been complaining about pains in his legs. At some point, he could barely walk and could not even report for duty.
“He was taken to his hometown in Ondo State a couple of weeks ago where he finally died.”
The late officer is survived by a wife and children
