The All Progressives Congress (APC), Jigawa State chapter, yesterday launched the sales of scratch cards for appeal funds to finance General Muhammadu Buhari’s 2015 presidential bid, realising over N85million at the launching.
Speaking at the occasion, the coordinator, Buhari Campaign Organisation, Jigawa State, Hon Faruku Adamu, said the launching was aimed at raising legal funds to finance General Buhari’s campaign.
He explained that Buhari’s candidature is not for him but for Nigerians, and as such, the APC came up with a strategy in which Nigerians would collectively finance the campaign. He added that the sale of scratch cards would continue even after the launch and would be available at party offices and commercial centres across all the 27 local government areas of the state. The coordinator revealed that the price of the cards is of three categories, N100, N500 and N10,000 respectively. The highest donation came from the chief launcher who is the party’s Senatorial candidate, Jigawa Central, Hon Sabo Nakudu who donated N5million while his business associates donated N50million.
