The Independent National Electoral Commission is to deploy 21,947 personnel for the conduct of the Kogi and Bayelsa States governorship elections.
The elections are scheduled for November 21 and December 5, 2015 respectively.
A breakdown of personnel to be deployed in the Kogi governorship election is as follows: Returning Officer (one), LGA Collation Officers (21), Registration Area Collation Officers (239), Supervisory Presiding Officers (255), Presiding officers, who are members of the National Youth Corp Members ( 2,548), Assistant Presiding Officers (I,II, and III) (7,644) and Assistant Presiding Officers (883).
Others are Reserve APOs (5 per cent ) of APOs (NYSC) (426), LGA Supervisors plus Head Quarters 1 Reserve (22), Registration Area Cluster Supervisors + HQ 1 Reserve (80) and Constituency Supervisor (one).
Similarly, the breakdown of personnel for the Bayelsa governorship election is: Returning Officer (one), LGA Collation Officers (eight), Registration Area Collation Officers (105), Supervisory Presiding Officers (180), Presiding officers, who are NYSC members (1,804) and Assistant Presiding Officers (I,II, and III) (5,412).
Others are Assistant Presiding Officers (1,931), Reserve APOs (five percent of APOs (NYSC) (271), LGA Supervisors plus Head Quarters One Reserve (nine), Registration Area Supervisors plus Head Quarters One Reserve ( 106).
Meanwhile, the commission has said it would commence distribution of Permanent Voter Cards in Kogi State on Friday and in Bayelsa on Friday 13th of November.
It said this was to ensure eligible Nigerians, who registered in the recently conducted Continuous Voter Registration, participated in the governorship elections.
The exercise in Kogi is scheduled for Friday, 6th November to Wednesday 11th November.
The PVC distribution exercise for Bayelsa is scheduled for Friday 13th November to 19th 2015.
It said the distribution of PVCs in both states would commence at 8am daily and end at 4pm at the ward level.
