ABIA State governorship candidate of the ruling PDP, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has named the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr. Ude Okochukwu as his running mate for next month’s elections.
Okochukwu, from Nkporo, in Ohafia Local Government Area was said to have been selected based on his political experience and administrative ability.
Okochukwu has been a lawmaker for twelve years out of which he spent fours years as the Speaker of the House.
Meanwhile, Governor Theodore Orji has inaugurated the PDP 2015 election campaign committee with a charge to ensure that all the party’s candidates for all the elective positions were delivered.
Inaugurating the committee yesterday at the Women Development Centre, Umuahia, Governor Orji challenged the committee to ensure that PDP wins all elective positions in Abia State.
Headed by the immediate past chairman of the party in the state, Senator Emma Nwaka, Orji charged the committee to strategize on the way forward especially with the threat coming from the opposition and urged all PDP members in the state to remain steadfast in the party.
