Meghan Markle’s fashion choices are reportedly raising eyebrows with members of the royal family.
The Duchess of Sussex is reportedly in hot water with Queen Elizabeth for refusing to follow royal protocol with some of her more fashionable, laid-back outfits.
According to the Daily Mail, “Hurricane Meghan” has been causing quite the stir at Kensington Palace for her intense work ethic and enthusiasm, but her choice in dress is leaving much to be desired with the family’s higher-ups.
“Meghan is being told she needs to start dressing less like a Hollywood star and more like a royal,” a Kensington Palace source revealed.
Whether she’s skipping out on wearing pantyhose or showing off some thigh during her royal tour abroad, Markle’s wardrobe isn’t winning her any points with the Queen.
During their June outing to Cheshire, the Queen was reportedly displeased that Markle didn’t wear a hat for the occasion. The Duchess declined to wear a hat even though she was informed ahead of time that the Queen would be wearing one — a subtle (but not obvious) clue that Markle should do the same.
Combined with Markle’s love of black clothing, which typically is only worn during times of mourning for the royal family, it seems as though the expectant mother is in need of a royal wardrobe overhaul to please senior members of the royal family.
However, there’s one person in the family who is believed to be on Markle’s side: Her father in law, Prince Charles.
According to royal biographer, Angela Levin, who spent a year alongside the Prince of Wales, sources close to Prince Charles reveal he is enamoured by his new daughter-in-law.
“There have been so many traumas and crises within the personal life of the Royal Family, from the Duke of Windsor onwards. And many royal divorces,” the source told Levin. “That’s why the Duchess’s troubled family background has endeared her to Charles even more.”
Will Markle continue her rebellious streak or fall in line with royal protocol?
Only time will tell, and we’ll be watching!
