Gunmen seize Rivers Chief Registrar

Gunmen yesterday abducted the Chief Registrar of the Rivers State High Court, Mr. Leonard Adoki, from his home town, Amalem, Abua in Abua/Odual LGA of the state.
Our correspondent gathered that he was abducted while returning from church and was taken to an unknown destination.
Rivers State police spokesman, DSP Ahmad Muhammad, confirmed the incident, saying two suspects had been arrested in connection with it. He added that investigation was in progress on the matter.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Port Harcourt has condemned the abduction. The branch spokesman, Angus Chukwuka, described the act as an aberration and urged the abductors to release him.
