A group known as the All Progressives Youth League (APYL), has said it would resist any attempt by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to disrupt the 2015 transition process.
The group, which accused the PDP of engaging in “rough-riding approach” at ensuring they either win 2015 elections or crumble the nation’s democratic process, said it would not fold its hands and watch the party have its way.
In a statement issued by the its President, Taiwo Ayedun, the group said the recent attempt to remove the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, was a plot from the PDP and Presidency.
APYP called on President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP Chairman, Adamu Mu’azu, to call on the PDP federal lawmakers to order, so as to avoid the disruption of the democratic process towards 2015.
The group also emphasised that when Governor Segun Mimiko defected from the Labour Party to the PDP, “heaven did not fall, and wondered why it is always difficult for PDP to respect the rule of law and operate a fair game play.”
