Lagos airport cargo terminal reopened

The Federal Government has reopened the cargo shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos which was shut two weeks ago.
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), on Wednesday “broke the seal” which signified that the place is now open for normal business transaction.
The NCS Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos Command, Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Thelma Williams, was quoted as saying that the cargo shed is now open for business.
According to reports, the Comptroller General of Customs, Dikko Inde Abdullahi, ordered the reopening after undertaking a tour of NAHCO Aviance ultra modern warehouse and tarmac where tonnes of cargo are stockpiled.
It was learnt that under the new dispensation only agents that have been registered and thoroughly verified would be allowed access to the sheds.
The cargo shed was shut two weeks after clashes between Customs and clearing agents over an alleged violation of procedures by clearing agents at restricted sections of the terminal.
