Governor Nyesom Wike of River State on Wednesday announced the suspension of four commissioners, as well as the Head of Service and his Special Adviser on Land for three months.
The affected commissioners are those for Chieftancy Affairs, Dr. John Bazia; Culture and Tourism, Hon. Tonye Briggs-Oniyide; Finance, Dr. Fred Kpakol and Sports, Boma Iyay.
The governor in announced through his Special Adviser on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu, that the suspension took immediate effect.
Also listed is the Head of Service, Rufus Godwins.
In February, the governor announced the suspension of the finance commissioner, but recalled him a few days later.
He also suspended the Commissioner for Works, Kevin Wachukwu, two months later but equally recalled him.
