Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has announced the appointment of Mr. Gabriel Chukwubuikem Ajah as the Secretary to the State Government.
The governor also named Mr. Uwakwe Abugu as his Chief Press Secretary and Amoke Louis as his Senior Special Assistant, SSA, on Media, while Mr. Sylvanus Onoyima will serve as his SSA on Due Process.
He spoke at a parley with journalists in Enugu Thursday night.
Until his appointment, Abugu was the South-East Bureau Chief of the New Telegraph. Amoke, who is also a journalist by training served as an aide to the former immediate past chairman of the PDP in Enugu State, Engr. Vita Abba.
All the appointments, according to the Governor, are with immediate effect.
The governor who spoke on a wide range of issues relating to his agenda for the to bring the State, called for a partnership with the media and all other stakeholders.
He also hailed the re-election of Senator Ike Ekweremadu as the Deputy Senate President, describing it as a victory for the entire Enugu State.
“I’m excited; I’m happy”, he said.
The governor also announced his plan to inaugurate the Elders’ Council, which he said would be a platform for his government to tap wealth of experience from former governors and and other elders in the State.
