Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, and wife Edith, have tested positive for Coronavirus disease, bringing the number of governors in Nigeria have caught the infection to six.
The governor disclosed Wednesday morning in his official twitter handle: @AIOkowa.
“My wife and I have tested positive for COVID-19. We are well and continuing with our isolation/medication. We thank you all for your continued prayers for us and our daughter,” the governor said.
Other governors who have earlier infected include those of Bauchi, Kaduna, Oyo, Abia, and Ondo.
Abia governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu is still in isolation being treated for the dreadful virus, while Ondo Governor, Akeredolu, announced his status only on Tuesday.
