A former presidential aide to Donald Trump has suggested that Melania Trump would be “counting every minute” until she can divorce her husband, having reportedly signed a prenuptial agreement following his 2016 presidential election win and move to the White House.
But, following Mr Trump’s election defeat to the Democratic presidential nominee, Joe Biden, Omarosa Manigault Newman told the Mail on Sunday that the couple’s 15-year marriage was possibly over, and that the first lady would wait until he leaves office in January to save him “the ultimate humiliation”, as well as any retaliation.
Michael Cohen, the president’s former lawyer, meanwhile said he “would not be shocked if there is no concession speech at all” from the president, with expectation that he will not return to the White House after Christmas for Mr Biden’s inauguration in January.
