Another dimension has been added to Cross River’s tourism drive with the introduction of double decker bus services in the city of Calabar, the first of its kind in Nigeria.
While launching the first tour within Calabar metropolis yesterday, the chief executive officer, NOVAROSTA Double Decker Charter service, Geraldine Itoe, said the bus service was intended to fill a vacuum in the state tourism drive.
The Double Decker Charter service, according to her, is available to special groups within Cross River State.
Itoe, who disclosed that the innovation will not only go a long way to boost Cross River tourism drive, said it would also serve as a launching pad for such development across Nigeria.
She explained that with the arrival of Double Decker bus service in Calabar, the tour and hospitality business in the State will know no bound.
“Calabar is not just your average holiday destination; it is the get away of innovation and record breaking projects” Itoe said.
The CEO of NOVAROSTA, listed some of the firm’s functions to include; bus transfers to and from tour sites, corporate as well as private charter services.
Highlight of the occasion which was attended by General Manager, Cross River Tourism bureau, Mrs. Patricia Ogon, was a free ride in the 75 seater capacity bus given guests to selected tourist sites within Calabar.
