FIFA has said Nigeria will not be banned from international football after a court order nullifying federation elections was withdrawn.
According to the football body, Nigeria has met a deadline to show that elected football officials are able to work again without any interference.
FIFA gave Nigeria until midday Friday to prove the court order challenging the recent election of NFF President Amaju Pinnick had been withdrawn.
FIFA had threatened Nigeria with a ban until at least May, which would have ruled the defending champion out of next year’s African Cup of Nations.
FIFA said Monday it has taken note that the federal court order was “definitely withdrawn.” FIFA does not allow other authorities to interfere in football matters.
