The Federal Government on Tuesday rebutted an online report that it generated a ‘no-fly’ list containing names of youths and persons who participated in the recent #EndSARS protests.
The Federal Ministry of Interior in a terse statement distanced itself from such action.
In a tweeted message, the ministry said,
“The Ministry of Interior did not, has not and will not generate any no-fly list. Ignore fake news, please!”
An online publication (not The Rainbow)had claimed that the Federal Government had begun the compilation of such a list the Ministry of Interior said,
An online platform Sahel Standard reporter that the Ministry also shared a short notice on social media stating that “No-fly list generation is not the responsibility of the Ministry or its associated agency.”
According to the online platform, reaction cane after one of the major promoters of the #EndSARS movement, Modupe Odele @Mochievous was held at the airport on Sunday while traveling to the Maldives for vacation.
