A former Minster of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Nasir el-Rufa’i yesterday said he joined the Kaduna state governorship race on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in order to make momentous changes in the state.
The former minister made the comments in Kaduna shortly after obtaining the governorship nomination forms at the party’s secretariat.
While saying that “election is not a do-or-die affair”, he said he joined politics mainly to make sacrifices in order to uplift the state.
He said that he would support any candidate that emergedf winner in the forthcoming primaries, urging the electorate to vote wisely during the 2015 elections.
Also, the Director General of the Progressives Governors Forum, Alhaji Salihu Mohammed Lukman, has obtained the APC governorship nomination forms.
He pledged to address unemployment and pay more attention to urban renewal, and the needs of the education and health sectors.
In a similar development, a former deputy governor in the state, James Bawa Magaji has declared to run for the governorship election in 2015 on the platform of Labour Party (LP).
