Minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation, Edem Duke
President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday gave the Minister of of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation, Edem Duke, the mandate to supervise the Information ministry,muntil a substantive minister is appointed for the ministry.
Jonathan announced this appointment on Monday in a statement signed by the Special Assistant (Media) to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Sam Nwaobasi.
The President’s directive followed the disengagement of Dr. Nuruddeen Muhammad, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, who was overseeing the activities of the Federal Ministry of Information.
Muhammed is now the deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State, in the April 11, 2015 governorship election.
According to the statement, Duke has since resumed as the supervising Minister of Information.
